Let’s help Gizzy get well soon!

By Andrew Phillips | February 16, 2017

We’re very honoured to contribute to the recovery of this little sweet little puppy named Gizzy!

Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue Inc. is currently raising funds to help him after he was hit by a car. Unfortunately, Gizzy’s femur was severely broken, and his leg needed to be amputated. While undergoing surgery, Gizzy experienced Cardiac Arrest causing partial, and most likely permanent, blindness.  Gizzy is only 4 months old, and nobody is willing to give up on him.

Everyone here at Handicapped Pets Canada is very honoured to be a part of Gizzy’s recovery! We will be donating a Walkin’ Wheels Dog Wheelchair to help offset the costs. Because Gizzy is still just a pup, he will most likely need more devices in the future as he grows, and of course there is the cost of all of his medical bills and rehabilitative therapy.

Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue says, “Gizzys total care is going to cost approximately $6000. This includes the amputation surgery, medications, wheelchairs (he’s still growing so he may need 2), a halo (to help him not bump into things), and future rehabilitation treatments. We have already raised $1775 via our Facebook pleas, but we need help to raise the rest. Amount needed will be updated weekly from both sources of donations.”

You can see more of Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue Inc.’s amazing work on their Facebook Page and on their website.
