Wellness Wednesdays – Lexi

By Andrew Phillips | February 10, 2016

This weeks Wellness Wednesday features Lexi- A German Shepherd who sadly is no longer with us, however her owner was nice enough to share her story.11147116_10153558357636518_3353055109475060517_n

Lexi had DM, (Degenerative Myelopathy), which is unfortunately a condition that affects many dogs, especially breeds like German Shepherds, Boxers, and Corgi’s. DM is a progressive disease that eventually leads to the dog being completely unable to walk. Lexi left us on April 4th, 2015, but her owner wanted to share how much she loved her wheel’s. “They gave her 10 months of mobility and the ability to continue hiking on the trails she loved and had hiked almost daily for her whole life.”

I miss you Lexi. You show them how its done! Degenerative Myelopathy may not have a cure but, it can’t slow you down when you have wheels and determination! Love this dog and her owner. Thank-you for sharing this to keep DM Awareness Alive! Help us find a cure!

This type of love left me with tears in my eyes. I would do anything for my fur babies and hope I can find a wheelchair for my old girl who has a ton of life just not good at getting around. Animal lovers are my favorite type of people

Hi James please give us a call 778-809-7421 as we have wheelchairs in stock and could help your old girl with a new set of wheels.
